Aggressive Accident Lawyer Serving Cape Coral
Accident Lawyer serving Cape Coral
As a local and experienced personal injury attorney, my principal office is right over the Cape Coral Parkway bridge in Fort Myers, I am prepared to handle your serious Cape Coral personal injury claim.
It has been my honor and privilege to serve Cape Coral families over the years. I have handled, pursued, and prosecuted virtually every type of serious motor vehicle accident case in Cape Coral and throughout Southwest Florida, including:
- motorcycle accident in Cape Coral
- auto accident in Cape Coral
- trucking accident Florida
- car accident in Cape Coral
- bicycle accident Florida
- semi truck accident Florida
Unfortunately, serious traffic accidents throughout Lee County and Cape Coral have been on the rise in recent years, particularly during season. Surprisingly, when things seem to slow down and the snowbirds return home, traffic crashes in the Cape seem to increase in their severity.
On Cape Coral Parkway, Del Prado Blvd, Veterans Highway, Pine Island Road, and Santa Barbara Blvd, to name a few, there have been very serious auto accidents, motorcycle accidents, and even fatal accidents. Tragically, we have all read or watched the news stories of tragic fatal crashes in Cape Coral in just the last few months.
If you are involved in a Cape Coral auto accident, even if you only initially feel bumped and bruised, you should probably seek medical attention as soon as possible as a health precaution. More bodily injury may have occurred than you may have initially thought. If not, then be thankful, and chalk up your seeking medical attention is good prevention.
Accident Injury Claim in Cape Coral
If you were injured in a car accident in Cape Coral due to someone else’s carelessness, then you may pursue a claim for damages from the insurance company of negligent driver, depending on how you and your family’s life are affected by the incident. If an insurance settlement is denied or unfairly delayed, then you may be interested in filing a personal injury lawsuit against the parties at fault or with liability for the car accident for your permanent personal injury and losses.
Accident Settlement Possibilities
At Harris Law Firm, P.A., a Southwest Florida injury law firm, we proudly serve the families of Cape Coral, Florida. In choosing me as your lawyer, you are selecting an experienced accident attorney who has personally been involved in serious and catastrophic auto accident claims, whether a Florida highway accident, Cape Coral auto accident, Cape Coral motorcycle crash, or other serious Cape Coral traffic collision.
Ethically aggressive, compassionate and prompt, I pride myself on providing personal attention and service to each client (I limit the number of clients I represent to make this possible).
I will be glad to answer your questions about your Cape Coral roadway accident claim in a way you can understand, investigate your accident claim, prepare the insurance paperwork and forms with you, and move forward with a comprehensive settlement demand on the at-fault driver’s insurance company (and your uninsured motorist insurance carrier, too). Many times in serious accident injury claims, a fair and reasonable settlement may be negotiated to compensate you for your harms and losses. Achieving this shared goal, however, often draws upon an injury lawyer’s experience, skill, and preparation — avoiding what doesn’t work, and focusing on what does.

Florida Personal Injury Attorney Fighting for You
When I started pursuing and prosecuting Florida personal injury claims on behalf of serious Florida accident injury victims, I knew I wanted to do it differently. Instead of trying to handle every Florida personal injury case, including those close to home like Fort Myers personal injury, Cape Coral personal injury, Naples personal injury, Lehigh Acres personal injury, and so on, I wanted to handle fewer. That’s right — fewer cases.
Why? I know what it takes to be a “volume injury attorney.” Volume injury attorneys handle hundreds of cases — and even more — at any one time. Layers of legal assistants and paralegals, legal secretaries, and various other “support” personnel are needed to help the attorney stay on top of all of these cases, and their roles begin to expand, so the client has more contact with them than his or her personal injury lawyer. Even with all these support staff, there is just no way, in my view, to handle hundreds of cases at a time, maintain close client contact, build a relationship with that client, and know the case as a lawyer should. Details get missed. Are there some attorneys who can do all of this? Maybe. I don’t know any.
So when I started my own law firm — the Harris Law Firm, P.A. — I decided to do it in a manner which keeps with my philosophy and approach to practicing law and developing close client relationships. That’s what I’m doing today.
I seek to provide the unfiltered truth about injury lawyers, an informative website and blog, and I like to think a new way to practice law: where the lawyer communicates relevant information directly to the client in an easy-to-understand way; a law practice where the personal injury lawyer shares information with those who need it; and working on my clients’ case in an open, easy to understand way through effective communication. Think of some of this as a my providing you with a roadmap of where you stand, where the case is likely to go, and the steps that are involved. Knowledge is power, and I seek to empower you in this process with information you should know about your important accident injury case.

TV Referral Service?
Like me, you have probably seen ads on TV touting referral services. You know these ads right away – characters – actors — telling you that in a serious accident you should call the referral service.
Why would anyone with an serious injury matter call a TV referral service – telling some operator about your private life, health history, and your accident. You don’t know anything about the operator on the other end of the phone. For that matter, you don’t know anything about the lawyer who might handle your case. Why take this risk?
When someone is seriously injured in an accident, the phone call to an experienced injury attorney can be of critical importance – who would trust such an important decision to someone selected for you by an impersonal TV referral service?
Is this how you make serious life decisions?
Serious injury victims can review our qualifications, including education, experience, and training, right here on the site. You will know who you are getting when you call. No mysterious call center, no TV characters, no TV referral service operator. Just local southwest Florida attorneys with, we believe, impressive credentials.
Importantly, we limit the number of clients we handle at any one time, ensuring personal attention, personal service, and you (your values, your needs) being our focus.

Common Sense Car Accident Tips
Florida Injury Lawyer | Florida Accident Attorney
So many people ask me what steps they could have taken following a car accident to help the investigation. The bottom line is to be yourself, be honest, and make sure that health and safety of you and those around you is priority #1.
There are, of course, steps that can be taken to protect your legal rights. While some personal injury lawyers would suggest that you are outside of your car snapping pictures and being an active investigator at the scene — think long and hard about the image that portrays: “If you were hurt so bad, then why were jumping out of your vehicle . . .” being Sherlock Holmes. At the car crash scene, focus on health and safety.
Think about it. Use your common sense. As soon as you are able to do so – that is, after you have made sufficient physical recovery from your personal injury from the car accident — take a few moments to protect your legal rights:
- Inform your own insurance company immediately after the accident. While your own insurance policy may require you to provide your own insurance company with a statement — you do not have to provide a statement to the at-fault driver’s insurance company.
- Consult me — David Hughes Harris — an experienced Florida accident lawyer and injury attorney, for proper legal advice and representation.
- Be sure that you fully understand the items stated on your insurance policy.
- Make a detailed list of all the events that transpired in the accident. It will also help if you manage to take some pictures of the incident including the injuries you have incurred.
- Write down the name, address and contact information of the other party involved as well as the details of his insurance policy and vehicle used.
- Note the contact information of all the witnesses who may give their statements of the accident.
- Keep all the receipts that you gather from your medical treatment and other expenses in relation to your injuries and property damages.
- When represented by a Florida injury attorney, be honest in responding to the all questions asked. Giving fraudulent information is not only just plain wrong, but can constitute fraud and result in the denial of your claim as well asother penalties.
- Examine all your insurance policies for other probable and valid claims.
- File your car accident insurance claim as soon as possible. Insurance companies implement limitations on the period that an injured victim may file his claim.
- Avoid signing any documents without the advice of your experienced accident lawyer; especially if you do not fully understand its contents.
- Do not accept any payment unless you are confident that the amount is indeed just and sufficient.
- Use your head here. Call me, toll-free if necessary 877-274-2080, and start the process of protecting your legal rights and holding the negligent driver responsible, and making sure the insurance company doesn’t take you for a ride.
